Parasitic diseases currently remain one of the most common pathologies and therefore represent a real medical and social problem. Children are particularly susceptible to parasitic diseases.
The Gelmo-screen reagent kit is designed to detect the most common human helminthiases (enterobiasis, ascariasis, diphyllobothriasis, opisthorchiasis, and taeniasis) in fecal samples. These infections share common routes of transmission and can have similar clinical manifestations (gastrointestinal dysfunction, allergic reactions, asthenia, etc.), necessitating simultaneous screening for these pathogens and differential diagnosis. The symptoms of indolent parasitic diseases are nonspecific, leading most patients to seek the advice of non-specialist doctors, such as allergists, gastroenterologists, and others, depending on the leading symptoms. Furthermore, these diseases are often asymptomatic.
