Purpose
Recent research has convincingly demonstrated the important role of intestinal microbiome disturbances in the pathogenic mechanisms of various gastrointestinal diseases.
Normal intestinal flora is the qualitative and quantitative balance of diverse microbial populations that maintain the biochemical, metabolic, and immune balance necessary for maintaining health. Intestinal dysbiosis refers to changes in the qualitative and/or quantitative composition of intestinal microflora, followed by the development of metabolic and immunological disturbances, possibly leading to gastrointestinal disorders. In dysbiosis, a deficiency of obligate intestinal microflora is accompanied by an increase in opportunistic microflora and an increase in its proportion in the microbiome.
The COLONOFLOR reagent kit is designed for the quantitative assessment of the colonic microbiome in children and adults using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with real-time fluorescence detection of amplification results. The COLONOFLOR reagent kit is designed to detect DNA of obligate colon microflora (bifidobacteria, lactobacilli, E. coli), as well as opportunistic pathogens.
